Japan July Coking Coal Imports up 24.7% on month

[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to statistics released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, Japan’s coking coal imports totaled 6.8 million mt in July this year, rising by 24.7% month on month and up 32.1% compared to July 2011.
 
In the first seven months of 2012, Japan’s coking coal imports amounted to 41.1 million mt, increasing by 3.4% year on year.
 
In July this year, Japan’s coking coal imports from Australia rose by 21.8% compared to the same month of last year to 3.6 million mt, while Indonesia exported 1.7 million mt of coking coal to Japan in July this year, rising by 42.9% year on year.
