[Ferro-Alloys.com] Reportedly, French Industry Minister Arnaud Montebourg on Monday said that ArcelorMittal was not keeping promises to French government over the plant issue in Florange industry.
Suffered from the profit losses over years, ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steelmaker said that it will shut down two blast furnaces at Florange from December 1st unless government can find a buyer to operate them.
However, it conflicts with President Francois Hollande’s efforts to save jobs.
Last week, Minister Montebourg said the government had found two offers from buyers interested in acquiring more than just two blast furnaces, however, ArcelorMittal has denied having received any offers.
