Print[Ferro-Alloys.com] Prices for UK 18/8 stainless steel scrap solids were pushed up this week in an attempt to keep up with increasing European prices, inter-merchants told Metal Bulletin sister publication Steel First on Friday July 26.
On the day, 18/8 solids prices rose to £780-820 ($1,196-1,226) per tonne, from last week’s £750-800 ($1,150-1,226) per tonne. “This price rise obviously contradicts the news that there were no orders last week from mills, because of the looming summer shutdowns.”
