[Ferro-Alloys.com] London Metal Exchange copper prices jumped in early Asian trading on Thursday August 8, on positive sentiment over China’s preliminary July trade data, due later today.
Three-month copper stood at $7,098 per tonne at 03:10 London time, up $79.25 from its opening price. "Today's price rise may be due to better sentiment from investors – China’s import and export data in July may exceed both June levels and market expectations,” according to Tao Jinfeng, chief analyst at Guotai Junan Futures.
