Japanese Scrap Prices Likely to Continue Rising

[Ferro-Alloy.com] With mini-mills in the Kanto region around Tokyo expected to ramp up output this month, upward pressure on scrap prices is likely to continue.
 
Crude steel output from the 18 mini-mills operating in the region is expected to reach 446,000 tonnes this month, up 22% from last month, according to one estimate, and up 1.1% from year-earlier levels.
