[Ferro-alloys.com] The cobalt market remained slow to restart after the New Year. Both demand and prices have not altered as there has been little buying interest over the past couple of weeks. According to sources, buyers are likely to be in the market for prompt supply in the coming weeks as few have enough material to meet production requirements. “With the holidays no one has been looking,” said a source. “There should be some steady business in the coming weeks.” The price for cobalt held at $12.00-12.50 per lb for Co 99.8% material, while the impact from the shutdown at ENRC’s Chambishi cobalt operation in Zambia remains unclear.
