[Ferro-Alloys.com] Turkey’s steel output is expected to raise by 8% to 37.5 million tons in 2014 from a year ago, according to Reuters.
The main reasons are improving global economic outlook, big infrastructure investments and so on.
Turkey’s steel output in 2013 dropped by 3.4% to 34.65 million tons compared to the previous year due to increasing imports.
Along with the recovery in the global economy and local elections, giant infrastructure investments as well as urban regeneration projects will help accelerate Turkey’s steel consumption, said general secretary of the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
