China is becoming less reliant on coal, with the proportion of coal consumption declining significantly to address pollution and climate change caused by fossil-fuel combustion.

In October, the company loads 4,170 coal cars per day, or 12.3 percent more than a year earlier.

The goal was announced by Lin Wu, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Shanxi Provincial Committee during a provincial Party congress.

China has seen significant improvement in its coal supply as production has significantly expanded and prices have stabilized, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
