AISI: US Last Week's Raw Steel Production.

The US produced 7.7 Mt of crude steel in January 2020, an increase of 2.5% compared to January 2019.

According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam imported a total 944,865 tonnes of steel in January, a YoY drop of 18 percent. The strongest falls were from Russia down 97 percent.

In the week ending on February 22, 2020, domestic raw steel production was 1,901,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 81.5 percent.

The Latin American association Alacero announced that in a market weakened by the loss of competitiveness and consumption, derived from the high cost of the domestic market and unfair competition.
