Chinese Steel Exports in 2019 dip to 5 Year Low.

For the month of November, 2019, steel production was 1856.9 thousand tons in Hunan Province.

Adjusted year-to-date production through January 11, 2020 was 3,008,000 net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 82.1 percent.

AISI: Steel Imports Down 17% Year-to-Date through November.

Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 1,541,000 net tons (NT) of steel in November 2019.

In the week ending on December 21, 2019, domestic raw steel production was 1,866,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 80.7 percent.

World crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 147.8 million tonnes (Mt) in November 2019, a 1.0% decrease compared to November 2018.

China's crude steel output is expected to reach 980 million tonnes in 2019, an annual increase of 7 percent, said He Wenbo.
