--------Secretary of Mg branch of CNIA    Mr Meng Shukun

In the 2006 China Ferroalloys International Conference held in Xian, Shannxi province between May 17^th and 20^th, the secretary of Mg branch under CNIA has given its speech title by which mainly divides into three parts including China’s current magnesium development status, estimation of China and international demand market and the impact on ferrosilicon industry. 

Firstly, he put forward the detailed analysis on the fast growth of China’s magnesium output, export volume, consumption, improving of the smelting and processing level, energy structure adjustment etc. secondly, he predicted China’s consumption, development and utilization of magnesium would increase continuously.”

Finally, he pointed out that China as the big magnesium producer and exporter, will be encouraged in utilization by the growing world magnesium demand. In 2005, the internal magnesium consumption in Chins has exceeded 100 thousand mts. And the rapid growth of Chinese magnesium industry will drive the development of ferrosilicon industry. And depending on the science, long term cooperation, indigenous innovation and the combinations between the downstream and upper stream industries, China’s magnesium smelting industry will make progress in its international competitiveness.
