On October 27, the European Union (EU) opened a partial interim review of antidumping (AD) measures on ferrosilicon originating, inter alia, in Russia.
The measures currently in force are a definitive antidumping duty imposed by a Council Regulation of 2008, which covers a number of countries including Russia.

The request was lodged by Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Integrated Plant and its related company Kuznetsk Ferroalloy Works, an exporter from Russia. The request is limited in scope to the examination of dumping as far as the applicant is concerned. The EU member states have fifteen months to conclude the investigation, following the decision of the European Commission.

"The continued imposition of measures at the existing level, which was based on the level of dumping previously established, appears to be no longer necessary to offset dumping," the European Commission said in the Official Journal, giving the grounds for the review.

The product under review is ferrosilicon currently falling within CN codes 7202 21 00, 7202 29 10 and 7202 29 20 and originating in Russia.
