[Ferro-Alloys.com] It is reported that India’s Tata Steel and Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) have restarted most of their iron ore mines in eastern Odisha state after getting new permits from the state government.
There are eight mines have resumed ore extraction, according to the mines secretary at the Odisha government. Among them, Tata Steel has four mines and SAIL has three mines.
The government's decision to lift a temporary mining ban, which has been imposed on May 16th, 2014, will enable those steel mills to maintain their profitability, according to Standard & Poor's Ratings Services.
