In fact, too low tender price for steelmills already made some of them purchase on manganese alloy hit hurdle.

As for market sale pice, silicon manganese 6517 is currently pricing at RMB6,300-6,400/mt and RMB5,600-5,700/mt for 6014. High carbon ferromanganese 65 is now concentrating on 5,600-5,700/mt. Medium carbon ferromanganese 75C2.0 with low p containing is focusing on RMB8,100-8,200/mt while RMB8,400-8,500/mt for 78C2.0 as well as RMB8,800-9,000/mt for 78C1.5. Low carbon ferromanganese 80C0.7 is traded at RMB9,800-9,900/mt.

In terms of silicon manganese market, falling bidding price further sapped participants’ confidence. In Shanxi, ex-work price for 6517 was lowered to around RMB6,300-6,400/mt, and RMB6,250-6,350/mt in Inner Mongolia. Given far far distance to steel mills in Hebei area, producers in Ningxia and Gansu put price dip to around RMB6,200/mt. As for 6014, because of sluggish demand, producers in Guangxi put sale drop by RMB20-30/mt from prior period. 

As for ferromanganese, As Hebei Iron and Steel Group lowered high carbon ferromanganese by RMB20/mt, it seems that other steel mills may also tend to edge down Sept purchase on high carbon ferromanganese. In addition, several large factories in Shanxi maintained normal operation on HC ferromanganese, steady output and slowing growth of steel, it is predicted that future price for high carbon ferromanganese would be still not optimistic. In terms of medium carbon ferromanganese, though steel mills already lifted up Sept purchase, given limited demand, whether or not sale price can maintain upward momentum would be still uncertain.

In general, due to downturn for steel industry, together with tight capital chain allowed steel mills to extend payment periodon manganese alloy. Affected by underformed for steelmakers in China , it seems that future movement for manganese alloys would not be optimistic.
