[Ferro-Alloys.com] It is reported that China totally imported 1.449 million tons of manganese ore during August, registering a slight downturn comparing to 1.523 million tons m-o-m according to data provided by China Custom Statistics.

In terms of supply countries, Australia exported 551.2 thousand tons manganese ore in August from 800.6 thousand tons in July. South Africa ranked the second with supplying 486.7 thousand tons manganese ore from 503.6 thousand tons in prior month. Gabon placed th third with exporting 127.5 thousand tons ore from 152.4 thousand tons. Brazil put the fourth with selling 101.4 thousand tons from 65.9 thousand tons.

In general, imported manganese ore spot transaction in China showed a slightly pick up as increasing output for manganese alloy in August for high water season in south areas. Nevertheless, given end-users still under poor performance, manganese ore spot market in China during August failed to see dramatic fluctuation.
