[Ferro-Alloys.com] It is reported that China exported 1,094 tons of silicon manganese in August from 801 tons in July according to data provided by China Custom Statistics. In the first eight months, China totally exported only 2,943.9 tons of silicon manganese, showing a nosedive comparing with the same period of last year 16,257.366 tons.

In terms of export destination, Taiwan province of China became as the only export destination during August, and also served as top exporter in the first eight months this year. While in the same period of last year, Japan imported 14,511.56 tons silicon manganese from China.

In short, given as high as 20% export tax on silicon manganese, coupled with slowing recover for global economy and frequently change for exchange rates, silicon manganese exports in China remained sluggish.
