[Ferro-Alloys.com]In recent period, mounted sale pressure further pushed down Chinese Imported manganese ore spot market with RMB1/mtu downturn averagely.

Australian Mn46 lumps dropped to RMB26.5-27.5/mtu at ports in China. As for Mn48 sand ore, the price declined to RMB25.5-26.5/mtu in China. South African Mn38 lumps edged down to RMB23.5-24.5/mtu while RMB27.5-28/mtu for Mn32%Fe20%. Meanwhile, Gabonese Mn 44lumps fell to RMB24-25/mtu at ports. Brazilian Mn 44% lumps pushed down to RMB 23.5-24.5/ mtu in China. Malayisan lump ore Mn>32% dipped to RMB23-24/mtu.

Given poor performance of manganese alloys market in China, it seems that participants hold negative attitudes on future market. In addition, low operation rates for alloys would hard to bring about enough cushions on manganese ore. In fact, continued falling sale further wane ore Chinese ore traders’ activity on importing, especially for non-mainstream ore like Malaysian lump ore and Zambian ore and so on.

In short, tumbling imported manganese ore spot market would still last some time.
