Ukraine's exports of ferronickel in the first eight months of the year fell 6.1% year on year to 68,850 mt, down from 73,340 mt exported in the same period last year, the state statistics service said Tuesday.
Revenues from exports of ferronickel in the period increased to $178.1 million from $174.8 million, the service said.
Ukraine exported 30,970 mt of ferronickel to the Netherlands in the same period, up from 20,040 mt in the same period of 2014, while supplies to China increased to 9,740 mt from zero.
Ukraine also supplied 4,630 mt of ferronickel to the UK, up from 2,860 mt a year ago, and 3,590 mt to the US, up from 110 mt.
Exports to Italy fell to 16,550 mt from 16,650 mt, exports to South Korea decreased to 2,280 mt from 26,220 mt and supplies to Finland dropped to 600 mt from 6,640 mt.
In August alone Ukraine exported 7,200 mt of ferronickel, down from 8,280 mt in August 2014 and 13,280 mt in July.
Ukraine's exports of ferrotitanium in January-August fell 13.3% year on year to 1,440 mt for $5.3 million, down from 1,660 mt for $7.3 million in the same period last year, the statistics service said.
Ukraine supplies its ferrotitanium mostly to Germany and the Netherlands.
Ukraine's Pobuzhskiy Ferronickel Plant, the only producer of ferronickel and ferrotitanium in the country, exports most of its output.
In 2014 Ukraine exported 103,480 mt of ferronickel, down 9.1% from 2013. Ukraine also exported 2,760 mt of ferrotitanium, up 1.5%.
