[Ferro-Alloys.com] The Ambatovy nickel and cobalt mine, in Madagascar, in which TSX-listed Sherritt International owns a 40 percent interest, produced 4006t of of nickel and 283t of cobalt in November. Production for the month was at about 81 percent of nameplate capacity. Sherritt’s share of the production was 1602t of nickel and 113t of cobalt. Further, ore throughput in the pressure acid leach circuit was 407870t on a 100 percent basis or about 84 percent of nameplate capacity. Given that the Ambatovy mine continued to perform at 80 percent to 90 percent of capacity. Sherritt would stop publishing monthly production updates after December and would revert to reporting its production and financial results on a quarterly basis. The Ambatovy mine is a joint venture with Sumitomo, which holds a 32.5 percent interest, and Korea Resources, which holds a 27.5 percent interest.
