[Ferro-Alloys.com] Low-grade ferronickel price increased a little last week and high-grade ferronickel is expected to go down. Low-grade ferronickel 1.6-1.8% priced at 1600-1620yuan/t; mid-grade ferronickel 4-6% priced at 710-720yuan/nickel; mid-grade ferronickel 6-8% priced at 710-720yuan/nickel; high-grade ferronickel 10-12% priced at 700-710yuan/nickel.

Recently, steel maker purchased not much ferrous nickel mainly because that steel makers has conducted cut plans, that steel makers have enough raw materials in the warehouse, and that steel makers can operate with other nickel products rather than high-grade ferronickel.

In terms of nickel materials, imported nickel plate is priced at about 68000yuan/t, coupled with low-grade nickel, the combined cost is still lower than high-grade ferronickel. As a result, steel makers prefer to purchase nickel plate and low-grade ferronickel products as a replacement.
