Facing the current situation of mining industry and main mining products, Chen Jiabin, chief of the Department of Resource Economy Management Research of Chinese Academy of Land & Resource Economics said that at the present stage China is undergoing a structural transformation between mining demand and supply, and demand downs from high to middle and low, and will be the biggest energy and mining resource consumer in the next five to ten years, and confronted with the pressures of peak demand and industrial transformation. Under the new normal, it’s mission for mining industry to guarantee resource security, and deal with excessive resource consumption, ecological damages, overcapacity, low efficiency and capping peak demand. At the same time, mining industry surpasses the high profit margin era, and becomes more and more challenging.
