[Ferro-Alloys.com] Brazilian flat steel producer Usiminas has decided to shut down two blast furnaces at its Ipatinga unit and halt its Cubatão steelmaking facility in order to adjust its production to lower demand resulting from the outbreak of Covid-19, the company said on Thursday April 2.
 
Demand for flat steel products in Turkey was weak in March because of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, market participants told Fastmarkets on Thursday April 2.
 
Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Bhilai Steel Plant recorded a 42% growth in production of prime 260 metre long rail panels in 2019-20 over 2018-19. During the same period, the plant also posted a 30% growth in overall production of prime rails.
