[Fellow]In 2020, the production of nickel in the Philippines increased by more than 3% year-on-year, but the outlook for this year's production is uncertain

Ferro-alloys.com:According to data from the Philippine government, despite the COVID-19 pandemic caused some projects to reduce production, the Philippine nickel production achieves a 3% year-on-year growth in 2020.

Government data show that last year's nickel production in the Philippines was 333,962 tons, an increase of 3.29% from 323,325 tons in 2019.
In 2020, only 18 of the 30 nickel mines in the Philippines reported production.
The Philippine Bureau of Mines and Geosciences stated that due to the continued threat of the new crown epidemic, the prospects for mining in 2021 are still uncertain. According to the report, the restrictions on epidemic quarantine have caused mining companies to reduce working hours and manpower.
However, the Philippine government agency said that with the rise in global nickel prices and the launch of the new crown vaccine, it will encourage mines to restart, increase production, and pave the way for new projects.
