China's Chinese mainland has 30 million 139 thousand tons, up from about 2 million 593 thousand tons in the past 6 million 323 thousand tons, down by nearly 7.1% from 6 million 805 thousand tons in the previous year, and 17.3% tons in the United States. The 30 million 139 thousand tons in mainland China increased by 2.5% over the previous year's 29 million 400 thousand tons, and the Asian regions excluding Chinese mainland, South Korea and Indonesia (mainly Japan, India and Taiwan) 6 million 429 thousand tons, which were nearly 7 million 894 thousand less than the last year's 7 million 894 thousand tons. Other regions (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Indonesia) had 5.857 million tons, an increase of about 6% over the previous year's 5.525 million tons.
Quarterly, the global crude stainless steel production decreased in the second quarter, then increased quarter by quarter, and reached the highest level in the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the output was 14.125 million tons, up by 13.7% and 4.4% respectively on a year-on-year basis, which was the only one not lower than that of the same period last year. In the fourth quarter, the output of other regions was higher than that of the previous quarter except for the Chinese mainland's production of about 2.6% to 8 million 236 thousand tons. The growth in Europe was nearly 21% to 1 million 719 thousand tons, and the US growth rate was about 13.8% to 568 thousand tons. The growth rate of Asia, excluding Chinese mainland, South Korea and Indonesia, was about 12.9% to 1 million 837 thousand tons, while the growth rate in other regions was about 16.1% to 1 million 765 thousand tons. Compared with the same period last year, the output in the fourth quarter excluding Chinese mainland, South Korea, Indonesia and the United States decreased, while the other four regions increased their output in the fourth quarter.
