[Fellow]Price assessment for ferro-silicon 75% Si min, cif Japan widened upward to $1,900-2,000 per tonne on June 30, up by 1.31% from $1,900-1,950 per tonne on June 23.
 
 
The Japanese ferro-silicon import price rose in the week to July 2 on tight supply from production disruptions in Asia and soaring demand due to quick economic recovery in both Japan and the EU, sources told Fastmarkets.
 
Fastmarkets’ price assessment for ferro-silicon 75% Si min, cif Japan widened upward to $1,900-2,000 per tonne on June 30, up by 1.31% from $1,900-1,950 per tonne on June 23. 
 
In the first half of 2021, there has been a series of ferro-silicon operation disruptions in leading Asian production hubs, namely China and Malaysia, due to energy conservation scrutiny and Covid-19 pandemic outbreaks.
Availability of ferro-silicon tightened when China’s Ningxia province cut 30% of ferro-alloys production operations in June to meet its dual control energy consumption target.
