[Ferro-alloys.com]According to the latest data, Chinachrome ore import was 1.39 million tons in July, 2013, up 99.03% m-o-m. The main import countries were South Africa, Turkey, Albania, Oman and Pakistan.

The largest import was 771,000 tons from South Africa, up124% m-o-m. The import was 285,600 tons from Turkey, up 85% m-o-m. Because market demand was not good, there were much spot goods of the South Africa chrome ore in the port. It led to the South Africa ore price decline in July.

In fact, the chrome ore import was not much in the first half 2013 year, but the import increased obviously in July. The main reasons included the following two points. The firstly, the import chrome ore price had declined to the lowest position, but the operating rate still kept the stable trend. Ore dealers thought it could not continue to move down in the future market considering the stable demand. The secondly, the steel mills usually needs to purchase much chrome ore in September. Most purchasers made preparation for the so-called busy season with the positive attitude.
