The result of demand and supply for ferro-silicon in Japan for the period from April to June in 2013 is summed up. According to this, the consumption of ferro-silicon for steel making in the period from April to June this year was 91,554 tons, down by 4.5% from 95,916 tons of the year-earlier period.
On the other hand, the standard ferro-silicon (Si > 55%) imported in the same period was 119,522 tons which was at the same level as compared with 119,687 tons of the year-earlier period.
The consumption of ferro-silicon for steel making is decreasing year by year, whereas the consumption of silico manganese is increasing instead.
