[Ferro-Alloys.com]Guangxi Chengde Group is a joint venture jointly invested and established by Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group and Foshan Chengde Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. Chengde Group was committed to a Ni-chromium new material project construction, which was invested RMB12billion and would generate 1.6million tons new Ni-Cr alloy new material. This project includes RKEF, sintering system, and initial refining system, refining the system, rolling systems, cold systems and oxygen stations, water treatment, power supply and other auxiliary utilities.

This project would mainly produce the Ni-Cr alloy and alloy resource-saving stainless steel by making full use of the advantage of the port logistics to import the Ni-chrome ore and combining with the unique resource in Guangxi province. The project greatly reduced the alloy cost and the production cost through using of the optimized refining system. For one aspect, the refining system can save the heat energy by directly using the Ni-Cr alloy original liquid after initial refining. Besides, the group constructed the single maximum capacity RKEF system with the length of 118 meters. In addition, the only advanced drying kiln technology was applied for dealing with the nickel ores. Compared with the Baosteel and Taishan steel, its energy consumption can decrease by 8-9% while the recovery rate was about 1.5% higher. The group directly invested in Indonesia and Philippines to explore the mines, achieving the Mine-Port-Depot integration by utilizing the logistics advantage of North Bay and Tieshan port. In this way, the average raw material cost decreased by RMB300-400/mt and the logistic cost reduced by RMB300-400/mt.

The Phase I had been committed in Mar. 2011, which could produce 600,000thousand tons Ni-Cr alloy, and generating industry output of RMB7.47billion. The sintering system, initial refining system, refining the system of Phase II also turned to trial production successively in the second half year of 2012. The total capacity of Phase I and II could reach 1.6million tons, ranking fifth in China. The Phase III—Metal rolling hot rolling project with annual production of 3million tons, was put into trial production in Nov. 2012. In Phase III, the solution pickling line 1 was constructed and started working in Mar. 2013 and the line 2 and 3 was also started to produce in the first half year of 2013. The preliminary work of the Ni-chrome expansion project had been in full swing, which would reach 3milion tons capacity. On basis of this, a batch of stainless steel manufactures would be introduced from Foshan area in 2013. When the whole industry chain from the basic raw material to the finished products was finished, the annual output value was expected to exceed about RMB one hundred billion.
