[Ferro-Alloys.com]The Chinese tungsten market has been largely lackluster over the past couple of weeks as consumer demand has slowed down and suppliers seem anxious to liquidate material. This comes as many seek to increase their cash flow prior to the year-end in China. Presently, spot prices for tungsten concentrate are at $324- 334 per mtu and prices are expected to fall as spot supplies are increasing due to limited downstream demand. Meanwhile, export prices for APT are at $380-395 per mtu f.o.b. and prices for tungsten carbide are at $45-47 per kg. China’s exports of APT totaled 2,053 mt in the first nine months of this year, up 19.2% compared to 1,722 mt during the same 2012 period.
