China's refined copper production capacity predicted to exceed 5 mln tons by 2010

China's copper smelting capacity will be released quickly in the coming two years, bringing the refined copper production capacity up to five million tons by 2010, said an official with the China Association of Nonferrous Metals Industry Monday.
 
Duan Shaopu, head of the copper division of the association, predicted that China's raw copper smelting capacity will approach to four million tons a year by 2010.
