Recently, Baosteel won the bid for supplying 12,000 tonnes HFW tubes in China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau West Kenya Pipeline Capacity Expansion Project.

The contract covering two third of total demand is successful paradigm of close corporation between Baosteel Intl. and Baosteel overseas subsidiary companies in exploiting market abroad.

West Kenya Pipeline Capacity Expansion Project is constructed with HFW tubes. On knowing it from Baosteel Europe end of last year, Baosteel Commerce, Trading Company closely followed up, intervening in early phase with Baosteel Tubular and Long Product Business Units and carried out several technical communication sessions with responsible engineering design parties of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Design Institute, etc.

Five suppliers including Baosteel took part in the bid competition started formally this October by China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau. With strong research capabilities, good product quality, timely delivery, considerate after sales service and reasonable logistic plan, Baosteel won the bid for two thirds of the total demand.

Successful cooperation between Baosteel Commerce, Trading Company and Baosteel Europe in this project initiated a feasible way for products of multinational enterprises as Baosteel expanding global market share. It is reported, the 12,000 tons HFW tubes will be supplied in convergence first quarter of next year.
