[Ferro-Alloys.com] China’s nonferrous industry witnessed a double-digit decline in first half (H1) profits, while aluminum smelters were at the bottom of the pile with losses of RMB 1.43 billion (USD226 million) during the period, the National Development and Reform Commission said in its industry review Aug. 31.
Core business revenue in the nonferrous industry amounted to RMB 1.92 trillion (USD 302.83 billion), up 11.7 percent year-on-year, while profits were down 20.5 percent at RMB 63.46 billion (USD 10.01 billion).
