Belgium’s Crude Steel Output Fall in Q3

[Ferro-Alloys.com]The Belgian Steel Federation (GSV) announced that the country’s crude steel output totaled 1.77 million tons in the third quarter of this year, falling by 5% year on year and decreasing by 5.8% from a quarter ago.

In the third quarter of this year, the country’s production of hot rolled coils (HRC) was at 1.86 million tons, decreasing by 10% and that of cold rolled coils (CRC) was at 1.13 million tons, down by 4%, both compared to that in the same period of the previous year.

At the same time, Belgium’s output of coated steel plates totaled 864,000 tons, rising by 8%; that of stainless steel was at 275,000 tons, decreasing by 5%, both compared to the figures in the third quarter of 2011.
