It is learned that Malaysia charged anti-dumping duty on steel wire rods along with other three kinds of industrial raw materials: electrolytic tinplate, biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
The Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad said it is to seek redress to the dumping problem from other countries such as China, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia to help local companies who produce these materials.
The anti-dumping duty on steel wire rods imported from Taiwan, Thailand, China, Indonesia and Vietnam is levied from 0% to 25.5%, it will be effective till Feb 19, 2018.
Ahmad said said the anti-dumping duty on the countries will be continued regardless of whether Malaysia signed or rejected the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreemen
