US Steel Mills’ Shipments Rise in August

According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US steel mills shipped 8,343,075 net tons in August, up by 0.8% from a month ago but down by 0.4% year on year.
 
In the first eight months of this year, the US steel mills’ shipments totaled 64,019,060 net tons, falling by 3.6% in comparison of 66,404,752 net tons in the same period of 2012.
