[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), the consumption of ordinary steels is expected to drop by 2.8% from 2013 to around 49.18 million tons in 2014, and consumption of special steel may decreased by 2% to around 12.54 million tons in 2014 from a year ago.
The country’s total steel consumption is expected to drop by 2.6% to 61.72 million tons. Meanwhile, exports are estimated to be similar with the figure in 2013.
The country’s crude steel output might exceed 110 million tons in the financial year 2013.
