Toshiba Corp. on Wednesday announced that it will stop taking new orders to build coal-fired power plants as it shifts towards greener, renewable energy.
"To reach carbon neutrality by 2050, I am calling for all countries to stop building new coal power plants and for partners to stop financing them," said the secretary-general.
The deals involve smart equipment, intelligent manufacturing projects, rolling mills, and blockchain cross-border platform, according to the country's top steel-maker.
