China’s announced that rare earths export quotas for the second half of 2014 are the same as 2013, showing the country’s reluctance to comply with WTO’s ruling. However, the moderate increase in quotas compared to H1 2014 suggests a slowly reviving demand in the market.
On July 14th, The Ministry of Commerce of China has announced that the second batch of rare earth export quotas for 2014 will be totally 15,500 tonnes including 13691 mt of light rare earth and 1809 mt of .heavy rare earth.
Total export quotas for the year amount to 30,600 tonnes rare earths, almost the same as 2013.
