In the first year of operation, the acid rolling team explored while producing, and the annual output of the unit reached 380000 tons, exceeding the planned target issued by the company. In 2013, the annual output reached 980000 tons, breaking through the design capacity of the unit, creating the fastest production speed of similar units in the industry. In 2014, the annual output exceeded 1 million tons for the first time, and 80% of the products were upgraded. Since 2015, it has provided core support for the company to become the largest single plant of non oriented electrical steel in the world for six consecutive years, and comprehensively established the industry status of Shougang non oriented electrical steel.

Some high-end products were heavily dependent on imports. The production of acid rolling mill greatly alleviated the contradiction between supply and demand in China's cold-rolled non oriented electrical steel market. The acid rolling mill has undertaken 80% of Shougang's electrical steel production capacity. The downstream customers of non oriented electrical steel are mainly home appliance enterprises.
