Japan’s Exports of Stainless Steel Products Fall by 3% m-o-m in August

[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to statistics released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan exported 91,469 tons of stainless steel products in August, down by 3% from a month ago.
 
In August, the country’s exports of stainless steel products to China decreased by 6.6%; that to South Korea fell by 10.8%; that to Taiwan jumped by 26.7%; that to the US increased by 17.9% and that to Thailand rose by 7.6%, all compared to the figures in July.
 
Meanwhile, the export revenues generated by the stainless steel products amounted to USD375,574 million in August. The average export prices of stainless steel products were at USD4,106/ton in August, decreasing by 6.6% from a month ago.
