[Ferro-Alloys.com]Turkey imported 689,492 tons of iron ore in August, jumping by 25% from a month ago and surging substantially by five folds from 142,620 tons in the same period of a year ago, according to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In August, Brazil was the largest iron ore exporter to Turkey with 246,270 tons, falling by 36.6% month on month and soaring significantly from 30,723 tons in the same period of a year earlier.

In the first eight months of this year, Turkey’s irono re exports amounted to 4.7 million tons, rising by 17.4% year on year.
